Secrets your life coach did not share

Updated: Nov 5

I very much do not regret the pain and suffering I lived through

Here is an example of some secrets your life coach did not share: firstly, I struggled to feed myself while I coached 13 people for 3 months for free last year.

They were not aware of this, because I take sacred space as a coach very seriously. My time with my clients is devoted to them and their soul’s journey. If they ever ask me difficult things about myself, I tell them without divulging myself too much. I share empowering story-telling and guide them through what I know is possible for myself and them.

But it was at this time last year that I was months into walking away from a very comfortable executive salary and my business mentor and decided to walk on faith with the publishing of my first two books and the launch of my 4-figure coaching packages.

I was enrolled in a financial investment program advised by my spiritual mentor, and with confidence, I dove straight into becoming the one I knew I could be.

Of course, when one takes a foolish leap of faith such as this, all hell seems to break loose.

My lone wolf energy had attracted bigger wolves than me. I was hopeful, and also very vulnerable and naive. I put my heart, mind, and body in the hands of men who could not contain me as they were swimming their oceans, and thus, one would drown if one leaned onto the other.

The financial investment was a bust, but I was already deep into coaching my 13 clients for free, as this is what I was banking on to support me while I supported them full-time.

However, I thought this moment to be a true testament to my willpower, faith, and resilience to serve the holy mission I believe God has put on my heart. And so I did not fully illustrate to my clients what was happening and carried on through with good grace.

The experience was worthwhile. I collected data and got to trial out my strategies as a coach. I learned what worked, what did not, who I was aligned with to support, what were my boundaries, and so much more. The testimonials that came out of it were enough food for my soul as I struggled to afford groceries and pay my bills that winter.

Being a life coach, and a spiritual guide on top of that, does not mean that my life is always perfect or that I have chosen this profession because I personally have failed at achieving my own dreams. This experience opened my eyes also, to view my spiritual guides and mentors as very very human too.

I very much do not regret the pain and suffering I lived through, because it was during this period that I received the opportunity to publish two books, build my company as a multi-tier service company, and gain true investments in love and faith within myself, by my family, and by the business mentors and partners that never gave up on believing in me.

God built my back stronger, so I can live the dream of every life coach— to see others succeed and find fulfillment in their dreams too. It is happening now as I write this.

It is the season again in which I am taking another leap of faith as I give it another round to coach full-time at the 4 figure cost I have been working towards for years. My trials and tribulations have truly freed my soul, and the feedback I have received from participants of my services and offerings so far has affirmed for me that this is the right thing to do— for me and for those ready to leap too.

I am not leaving anyone behind in this season. I am a hardworking businesswoman focused on empowering love, health, and sustainability for hundreds and thousands of people daily. I have reached over 1 million with my content and seek to reach millions more. I have to live what I preach. And so this still means that I suffer, I fail, and I need friends and community support, even as I build community and healing spaces for everyone else.

This is a Grace season once again.

I thank you for reading this — someone who is inquiring about compassion and understanding for the life coaching journey. It is not for everyone! But for those whom it calls to, the journey is rigorous, but it also enriching. You will live a life more free than most. Take it as a divine responsibility because it is. Carry on wisely, confidently, and with steady forgiveness because this lifestyle will ask everything of you.

Welcome to your faith walk. Or perhaps, a dance. Sometimes it is a terrible climb. But always remember that you are loved and you are seen for the gifts your soul is here to share.
