"If keep investing your time, your energy, and your money into these people or into these organizations and businesses, and you find yourself increasingly more drained, that is how you know you're on the wrong path and something about how they do business is not morally aligned with you."
To address this topic, we need to talk about moral integrity. Integrity asks: Are you willing to show up and be the highest version of yourself that you've been exploring through YouTube, through books, through spirituality, through your prayer time, through exploring articles like this?
Once you receive the genuine clarity of this answer, are you going to start making the moves, and once you start making the moves, are you going to remain consistent with them and bring these visions to life? And so, this is where we need to seriously talk about ethically navigating the business world.
Once you have all that you've prayed for, when you are truly walking this vision out, it's going to look like a business. I'm going to talk about business here from a spiritually guided perspective, specifically because if you have a soul mission, if you have a vision downloaded to you from God and you start making it happen in the physical world, then you are the one of millions of humans on Earth who’ve become self-employed! Welcome to the journey of spiritual freedom.
As we navigate our life purpose and our businesses as spiritual people, we have to decide what our morals are. Many of us derive our own morals from many inspirations of spiritual texts, religious texts, family, and mentors, but no matter what, we're going to talk about the truth of universal love here. Most simply, this means that we are building the foundations of our businesses based on the higher character that we know the Divine intimately wants us to push ourselves further into becoming.
This is going to look very unique and different for each and every one of us because we're unique souls. Each and every one of us has different character developments, different blocks, different traumas, and different stories that we are all navigating through, and so each of us has different levels of where we're now pushing the boundaries in our own life.
Once you're creating your business, then you've already asked the Divine yourself and received clarity on who this higher version of yourself is that you are now becoming. By asking this, you are also asking: “What are the present blockages that I am now experiencing that are preventing me from evolving into the higher version of myself?”
Once you decide what these blocks are, there comes a commitment. Once you're committed, you have to see it through. That's the hard part. We talk about alignment all the time on the conscious path. You’re going to walk away from jobs and relationships. You're going to have to let go of addictions. But we have to have a deeper “why” behind these actions, or we will fail. We cannot be chasing the money or the status or success of what it means to be a conscious creative, an entrepreneur, or a business owner. Instead, we are focused on the character development that we are walking with God towards, and that is where we are always going to be tested.
The tests are going to come from people the universe sends into our lives—people who are being spiritually influenced by good and bad. When you are in the testing zone, and you are exploring who you are, and you're trying to claim for yourself and give yourself permission of who you are in the eyes of the Divine here on earth, as a creator, as the artist, as the business owner, then we have to beware (be aware) of our own vulnerabilities.
We have to be willing to look at the ways we are self-limiting ourselves, we are sabotaging ourselves, where we are so possessed by fear, where we are lacking the courage to make better choices for ourselves… and so the tests come with the people who will sometimes purposely prey on these vulnerabilities. If you know what your vulnerabilities are, then you're able to stay vigilant. You're able to discern better.
But we're not perfect beings, and so there are areas of our psychology, about our soul, that are so cloudy to us that our Higher Guidance has not yet revealed to us because we're not supposed to know just yet. Sometimes, we have to take a really, really rocky road in order to get to the character development God wants by going on the wrong paths. So we fall into the disillusionment of other people's intentions for our lives when we don't really have a strong vision yet, or the vision isn't strong enough yet.
We allow people to come in and plant seeds or ideas of who we should be or what we should be doing, how we should be building our business, how we should be creating. When you are vulnerable, you are seeking, and you are seeking guidance. You are seeking support. You are seeking inspiration. You are seeking help. So, many people will come in. Some people will be exactly who God has sent, and other people will be distractions. Some people will manipulate the hope and inspiration and faith in your heart in order to serve themselves and not your vision God has given you because they see you are vulnerable. If this happens, it's okay, God will still use these situations.
When we fail to avoid predatory businesses and allow people to manipulate us, slowly over time we start surrendering and giving our power away, and the vision becomes more and more of a distant thought. You become captured, encapsulated by someone else who is reprogramming your mind to think differently… and that's okay. That’s why we ask for and pray for teachers, right? And that's perfectly fine. But this is where we go back to the moral dilemma of where we are as conscious creators. Are you thinking differently because it's empowering the moral character development that your soul needs, or are they influencing you to think differently to serve themselves?
People who lack moral integrity see you as a walking dollar sign, or they see you as a piece of flesh to give them pleasure. Whether they are conscious or not conscious of their own intentions, this is the danger of people who are also trying to discover their own life vision and they're exploring it through you. They're testing it on you… unless your vision is strong, unless you are aware of your morals, and unless your character development is strong. If these are not strong enough, they will be tested. This is guaranteed.
So it is for our benefit that people come in and distract or manipulate our thoughts and try to reprogram us to serve another vision. In these moments, we find ourselves dependent on what they think of us. We find ourselves financially dependent on them. Maybe you've found yourself in a pattern of giving them money over and over and over again. Always in the promise of something. People who are selling you a different vision that is not yours, people who are not morally aligned with you, will keep promising you something. This promise has never been fulfilled. It might happen for other people that you see working with them, but it never works for you. This is not to say, and I'm not going to say, that these are evil people— they’re just not aligned with you. People with evil intentions who do want to harm you are hopefully more obvious, but it gets very, very complex on this journey the deeper you go into conscious and psychic awareness.
So if you’re promised a promotion, or you’re promised more money and you keep investing your time, your energy, and your money into these people or into these organizations and businesses, and you find yourself increasingly more drained, that is how you know you're on the wrong path and something about how they do business is not morally aligned with you.
These things happen in life to bring you clarity. That's beautiful, and sometimes, it comes at a very high cost. A very high cost. I understand that myself… compromising myself and my own values with sex and relationships, spending money I didn't really have because I had so much faith in other people, but not in myself. As a young woman who was single and living in a new state, I was in prime position to be taken advantage of and manipulated by other people who, again, see us as an opportunity enhance their life because they can mold you, they can shape you, because your mind is so open and your heart is so full. You have so much to give, you have so much potential. There's so much brightness in you, so much love in you. It's all over you, and so you become a target. So, this comes back into question. What are your moral values at this time? You clearly need to define that for yourself so you don't put yourself in these situations and predicaments to be manipulated and taken advantage of.
